As a continuation to our small "DF0111 Reunion Gathering" that afternoon, we had an early dinner at "Marche - Movenpick" which is a German restaurant, not really a "fine dining" kinda place - so no worries it will NOT burn your POCKETS.
I can't really explain much about this place in words, but of course there are alot of photos to accompany this blog entry.
But from what I can say, Marche looks "EXPENSIVE" from the outisde, even for me...a person who goes to "CHILI's" a lot, i feel like not going to "MARCHE", coz it looks DAMN expensive.
But nahh, you should go in and find out for yourself. The food there are just a little bit more expensive than those that you find in normal foodcourt. But the quality is as if you're dining in a 5 Star Hotel.
The price is very much reasonable, perhaps between RM 20 - RM 30 per person.
One plate of Pasta would cost you approx RM 14 - RM 16
One pizza would cost around RM 14 - RM 17.
Half a chicken is around RM 8 - RM 10.
There are a whole lot more for you to eat, such as Lamb, Beefsteaks, Salmon, Seafood, Salads, Hot Dogs (special german home made), Rosti, they have almost everything from Western - European - a little bit of Asian cuisine.
The concept is pretty much simple, they have a really nice combination of stalls which are very well decorated, you justh ave to order what you want and they will stamp a chop onto your "Ticket" (this is your bill to pay upon exit).
So, whatever you order, from main dish - desert - drinks, all the stamps goes here.
There's no 10% Service Charge, as everything is "Self Served".
You can choose your own garnishing, cheese and sauces. It's like being in a "Hotel" buffet line, where you can order to the chef what kind of meat you want and e.t.c...
You can even see them cook, enjoy the photos...
PS: 1 Vanilla Coke cost RM 3.50, so yea...damn expensive but the food are damn cheap. Basically they'r making a profit out of the "DRINKS" and making it an enjoyable trip for all coz the food is cheap.
Soft Drink - Carbonated Root Beer, no alcohol at all. It's just a soft drink. The drink contains Yeast and Malt, so it has this unique "Taste". But hey, its DAMN expensive. 1 of this cost RM 6.50.
Picture of the Salad Counter and Vegetables. You may select your own vege's and ask them to cook the way you want it or select from a variety of "Marche" cooking styles.

Most of you must be wondering what is "DF0111". Well, previously i was in a college doing IT. It's called APIIT (Asia Pacific Institute of Informationa Technology).
Joined the college on January 2001 and it was the first intake of the year. Being the first intake of the year and the main branch of APIIT (Central Market Branch is the second in Malaysia) therefore all the classes in Apiit Damansara (are considered main branch) therefore the class number will end with an odd number.
Hence, DF0111 -
DF - Diploma (First Year)
01 - Year 2001 (Entry)
1 - January (Intake)
1 - Damansara Branch
---------------------------------------
Which means, if there's another class in APIIT Damansara in the month of January 2001, which is after DF0111. The class would be named "DF0113". The only difference is the "3" is an "odd" number after "1". Which indicates that DF0113 is the second class (intake) of January 2001.
---------------------------------------
On January 2nd 2005, a few of DF0111 class members had a small reunion gathering at Starbucks Coffee @ The Curve. I was the class representative of this class, and of course la...had to do all the invitation. But this wasn't really an official one. It was just to meet up with some old friends / collegemates. So we only SMS a few...mostly those that we know who could make it on such a short notice.
Everyone was on a tight schedule, since now most of us are either working or completing our last year of our DEGREE programme. So only very few could make it, most of these people below are those that are very close to me since Diploma years and one very special someone too is in the photos.
Attendance List: Shaz, Fariz, Ziyad, Maman, Agung, Kevin Lim, Kevin Leng, Andrew, and Deena.
We stayed for a couple of hours talking about old stuffs, catching up with lost time and finding out who's doing what now and where.
Enjoy the photos...
That's Fariz, Agung, and Uncle Kevin. Agung has his "Just Wake Up" look. Fariz with his "LONG" Japanesio hair, and Uncle Kevin...he's the oldest amongst us all and we are his lil' nieces and nephews.
That's Kevin Leng from the left talking to Fariz and beside Fariz is Andrew in green stripes t-shirt. These guys are really into football (apart from Fariz la).
Here's Andrew and Deena. IT People...

Only read this if you have a problem in controlling your expenditure, your flow of money / cash out of your pocket / bank...

---------------------------------------
I can't help you not to spend too much, purchasing stuffs that you don't need...
Ever heard of "Its easy to do all the bad things and harder to do all the good things"
Let's translate that into FOOD LANGUAGE... which is "It's easier to eat all the junk (bad) food, and it's harder to eat all the good (healthy) food".
Well, no one can help you with your expenditure, its yourself. You buy what you want, sometimes you buy things that u don't really need.
Few weeks ago, i was bidding on this item which is a Walkie Talkie on Lelong.com.my, brand new American brand walkie talkie (professional) up to 11 Miles with Telco Network. It was running for a really cheap price, and i was bidding it like crazy. Then i realised one thing which is "What am i going to do with it once i get the walkie talkie".
The answer is...NOTHING.
I can't use it for myself, can't just talk to myself. I need someone else to talk to. But hey, I already have a hand-phone.
Anyways, I didn't buy it. I was strong enough to control myself.
I just visited my client today at Sony BMG Music @ Great Eastern Mall Ampang. She told me "If you see a lot of girls walking around with Zara branded clothes, you would know why...coz they'r having this BIG sale" So, women - ladies - girls...can you guys control yourself or do you just plunge yourself into the SALE "MODE" and buy all sorts of things and over spend?
---------------------------------------
What i'm trying to tell you here is that, if you'r having all these problems and you'r trying your best to save money. Yes, of course the best thing to do is to put the money into your bank account, but hey - you have an ATM card which permits you to take out money from any ATM machines (that could be found almost anywhere).
So, what other choices do you have? Certainly you'd take out your cash when you need them to shop when there's a "SALE", but can you control your expenditure?
---------------------------------------
My tip for the day is...
I have several bank accounts, in different banks such as RHB, Maybank, BCB, Hong Leong Bank, and UOB.
If you notice, the only local banks are: RHB, Maybank, BCB and Hong Leong Bank.
Of which these are the banks with ATM machines almost everywhere and are using the "MEPS" system which allows you to withdraw money from different ATM machines.
The point here is, i opened an account at "UNITED OVERSEAS BANK" - UOB Bank. They only have 2 branches here in KL, one at Central Market area and another one at Jln Raja Chulan (KL). Although the bank provide you with the ATM card, they don't accept "MEPS" system as it's an international bank and uses "PLUS" system instead.
The trick behind this is that "PLUS" is an international system where you can withdraw your money from any ATM machines in the world, but there will be a service charge of "RM 10".
Now, ask yourself this question...would you withdraw money and spend another RM10 on top of that for "SERVICE CHARGE".
NO...(for me la).
Therefore, if you see something nice in Zara, MNG, Giordano or any shopping malls and you forgot to take out cash. But the "DESIRE" to buy that shirt / pants is there and you REALLY want to buy it. But hey, you don't have cash with you! And you'd think "OMG, If i were to take out 200 bux from my UOB bank account and there'll be a service charge of RM 10, that's so MUCH".
So, you might end up not buying that shirt / pants and you'd continue going around the mall without purchasing something expensive. Basically you would be living off what you have in your wallet on that day.
Of course, you can withdraw money from your UOB bank account, its just that you won't withdraw as much as your RHB or Maybank.
Basically, what i do is...i use RHB as account for all my expenditures. I also use Maybank and RHB for my online transactions. Hong Leong Bank is purely savings and i dont carry the card arround. And UOB is for emergency cash...
Since i started on this, i have saved up so much money and spent so much lesser.
But i did apply for a Visa card from UOB and woohoo...let the SWIPES begin!
Hahah...no la, i just use it to swipe sometimes if i forgot to take out cash.
I know, it might not work for you girls... with the Visa card, you might just swipe your way to BANKRUPTCY!
Cheers...
PS: Picture above is of a "DRIVE THRU" UOB Bank ATM Machine. Cool huh...

The following entry is intended to be a continuation of "Crazystrat Caught by Astro Security".
William aka Crazystrat said that there's no Security in the carpark. Of course the quards are not there, i just had to make a twist in the story so that it sounds "BETTER" and add more "UMMPHH" in the story !! Mwhahaha...
By the way, you go it wrong anyways...The Astro Security CCTV Surveillance Cameras are all over the place. There's quite a lot of the cameras in the car park. I've been in the Security Control Room and they've shown me the cameras specifically located in the car park.
Here are the security features:
1. The gates surrounding the Astro Carpark and the entire facility has:
"Movement Sensors" - If someone moves in the carpark the camera will follow them.
"Vibration Sensors" - If the fences vibrate, the camera will turn over to the part of the fence that vibrated.
"Heat Sensors" - Yes they have this too...
If you think that Astro Security is not that "Hi-Tech"...you'r wrong... :P
HA ha HA Ha ... They're watching you...
You never know, they might be able to take some of those *PRICELESS* pictures of you trying to break into your own car :P

Julie @ Luxembourg
Tsunami2612, the natural disaster that hit several countries within Asia Pacific and mildly in african countries has killed over hundreds and thousands of locals.
Moreover, it is the festive season, one day right after Xmas...and of course there are alot of tourists going around on holiday.
I was in France, lived there...well the Europeans love to come to asia during their winter time coz its "HOT" here! And during their summer time they mostly stay in their country, visit other states or come to ASIA and other parts of the world.
Well, my cousin Francois Xavier in Luxembourg has just informed me that our friend "Julie" (his classmate) has been declared MISSING!
Julie who was on her Xmas Holiday trip in Thailand at this resort called "Khao Lak" and till today there is no news on her.
That area is one of the places that was hit really badly during the Tsunami big waves!!! We all hope that she's still alive, somewhere, and can't wait to see her come back home to Lux.
Julie, we miss you and we'll see you back in Luxembourg.
---------------------------------------
PS: As the Class Representative of DF0111 and in conjunction with the Tsunami2612 Natural Disaster. The class of DF0111 (2001) - from APIIT will be donating RM 180++ for the International Tsunami Relief funds.

I know the title of this blog entry is a lil' bit corny and stuffs...but hey, the picture below explains it all.

It's been a long time since i last blog about something or anything in here. That's because i've been busy, really
busy...with life, work and especially enjoying myself.
On new year's eve, was at the office just for a short while in the afternoon, overheard Albert's conversation and found out
that he's doing nothing on that night to celebrate new year since all the new year countdown, parties and all have been
cancelled due to the recent Tsunami (Natural Disaster).

So yea, i know how it feels like when being left alone on a day that you'r suppose to celebrate the festivities with your
special someone or with friends and knowing Albert would be alone that night really bothers me.

So i called my friend Ziyad (ex-collegemate from APIIT) coz he invited me to his house for BBQ party (just a small one
between his co-workers and 2 - 3 friends) and asked him whether or not if I could invite Albert over.

Had to ask Ziyad first, because primarily this is not my PARTY, secondly he didn't even invite other classmates from APIIT or
even our close friends i.e.: Fariz, Agung... So i know its sort of on a only a small number of people are allowed and not
more and not less.
So yea, he agreed to let Albert come over, since i told him that If albert isn't there i wouldn't have anyone else to talk
to. Which is untrue, because i know Ziyad's sister, brother and parents really well and his other invitees such as Francis
(know him very well) and a few of his Citibank co-workers - that was actually to get Albert a place over at Ziyad's.
Anyways, enough of that...

Albert with his Shisha pipe...

All spiked up...too "HIGH"
Albert ate quite a lot that night and he smoked some "SHISHA" which is this Arabian smoke thing.
We filled the jar up with Vanilla Coke instead of putting normal water inside. And voila...the "SHISHA'ing" begins...

We got there at Ziyad's at about 8pm after buying more Chicken for BBQ and some drinks. We left his house after finished
cleaning up which was at around 1.30am.

I reached home after sending Albert back home at around 2am. And *sigh* was really tired but had an awesome NIGHT-OUT!

Yes, you heard it right...our 18 years young William Lau (Not William Hung) although i would expect Mr. Hung to have done this a long time a go.
But our William Lau was caught in the Astro carpark (East Entrance) trying to picklock a white colored car. Astro Security guards saw through one of their many security cameras, where William was carrying this "30cm ruler" and was poking it into the empty space between the window of the driver's seat and the metal door.

Anyways, he was found "INNOCENT" of his crime! Because it was actually his own car that he was trying to hi-jack!

Anyways, figure out yourself what happened to the car next...he didnt have a real pick lock. the only thing he had was my RULER! :(
Have fun with the pics...

See the keys inside the car, well he doesn't actually have central locking.

Smile....
---------------------------------------
1. He was armed with a ruler
2. Caught on camera by Astro Security
3. Put on trial for attempted theft / burglary
4. Set free because the car was HIS

(Appended By Albert:
albnok posted at 23:52 1st Jan 2005
Aiyah, you forgot the fact that they probably were starstruck with Andrea Miss Malaysia 2004.)
Hey there, here's the continuation from the previous BLOG entry.
Since Albert was so DESPERATE to find out who was it that I had dinner with, he actually got my camera into his hands this (friday) afternoon at the office and browsed through the pictures takes at Fish N Co.
*sigh*
From Left: Andrea, Felix, Davina, Ruzy, Efie
No more fun la to make him guess who it was...
Anyways, not such a big deal anyways, just our friends whutt...
The list of friends who i had dinner with are as below:

1. Efie
He used to work at Xfresh, brought him in long time ago and now he works at 8TV (We're different). He started working at 8TV prior to its launch. Dang, they offered me a full time job there but i had to reject since im still studying so passed on the offer to Efie.

2. Ruzy
Ruzy used to work at Xfresh as one of our Webjournalist. Later on she's the Xfresh TV Host on Xfresh TV @ Astro TViQ. Now she's studying at HELP Inst and will be the host again for Xfresh TV Season 3.

3. Felix
Felix, what can i say about him...an old friend, haven't seen him for a long long time and only recently made contact again and started going out like in the old times back yrs ago.
He's currently studying @ Monash.

4. Davina
Davina is one of the pioneers in Xfresh. She was there before me and left the company as she had to continue her studies. Davina graduated from ELC International School and she reminds me Of Julia Roberts because of her distinctive laughter and smile.

5. Andrea Fonseka
An old friend of mine, met her even way b4 she came to Xfresh. If im not mistaken, i met her back in 2001, wow that was LONG LONG time ago. Anyways, Andrea used to host the Xfresh TV Show in Season 1.
---------------------------------------
Now, here's the exciting part about the dinner. We all noticed that the 5 waiters and 1 waitress took their turns to serve us our drinks and meals. Wow...that was ok la...but each of them came with a "HORNY" kinda SMILE on their face.
See that horny manager taking our order...
Its good that they smile when serving us and taking our orders...but there was something FISHY going on.
When Andrea ordered Black Coffee and the coffee was served, this waiter who i believe is one of the chief / manager there at the restaurant asked if she wanted any sugar with it, and Andrea said "Brown Sugar please". So he went and took some sugar from the counter, and he said... "sorry we don't have any brown sugar but we have white sugar" so she didn't want it so it was ok la...but the guy came and left with a very HORNY SMILE, hornier than anything you could ever imagine.
The manager of the place even took our order...weird huh, for a MANAGER to take our orders (there was only 2 other tables occupied in the entire restaurant...basically it was EMPTY).
It was about 11++pm and all other shops were closed and they were waiting for us to buzz off, but wait...this other waiter who works behind the drink counter came up to us with a BIG JUG of sky juice and a BIG HORNY smile and said "hi, would you like a refill", we jokingly said "yea sure if u can refill for us our Perrier and Coke"...ahahha..."no thanks"...
Weird huh...they wanted to close the shop, but they were offering us more DRINKS to drink, won't that make us stay longer?
Why why why...are they taking their turns to serve us...
Mystery to be solved...

No, if you were wondering if was "DITCHED" last night...well NO is the answer.
Woohoo!! I don't give a fish anymore to ditchers or anyone around that area / field.
---------------------------------------
Was suppose to go for a CounterStrike session last night, but that was my secondary plan la. Of which my primary plan is to have Dinner with a group of FRIENDS!!!
Yes, u heard it..."FRIENDS". Seriously, our dinner session last night...if it is to be RECORDED on Camera, it should look like the hit TV series "FRIENDS" in the coffee house. I think we were the loudest there...
Let me just re-cap.
1. Primary Plan is to have dinner with FRIENDS.
2. Secondary Plan (if dinner is cancelled) is to have Counter Strike.
3. Had an AWESOME time!
---------------------------------------
I'm not really sure where all these is going to lead to. Well, there was this small group of 6 of us, 3-guys & 3-girls. We had dinner at Fish N Co 1 Utama. This place roxx, but still it can't beat Manhattan Fish Market.
Why? coz Manhattan Fish Market is a place for better value for money and good food!
The food at Fish N Co was not that nice la...especially the prawns. I expected the seafood platter to be better than Manhattan's but nahhh...
6 of us, but i thought Friends was 5...not sure la..i dont really watch that TV show.
I have photos of who was there, but nahh...not gonna reveal it here. Well not this soon la.
Why?
Because i just feel that its better to keep it that way. When i go out with girls, i like to keep them anonymous and not tell many people about it. But hey, im telling you guys NOW that i went out with some girls for dinner last night. That's ok la..but i didnt tell you who they are?
Well, you see i have over 480+++ friends in Friendster, its so easy for you to spot them in there.
I dont know what im crapping bout here...for those of you who might want to try to guess who the girls are (like Albert...he loves this guessing game) well start guessing!!!
I give u some clue (to albert):
1. My old young friends
2. Perhaps my LimKokwing collegemates / or other students?
3. Another Hint: Monash + Singapore
4. They are not from Bandar Utama area, some are really far like at Old Klang Road, Damansara Utama, and other places but nobody who attended to the dinner was from Bdr. Utama. (Albert..take a guess la.. dont think u know them).
